About:
Kasey Boston joins the BTC after over 15 years of youth development and nonprofit management experience. She most recently served as the Chief Program Officer, working with Boston youth, teens, and families at St. Stephen’s Youth Programs. Some of the highlights and proudest moments in her work with teens include establishing service learning and college exploration trips during school breaks and supporting hundreds of teens expand their skill set and bloom through their first employment opportunity. She strongly values long term relationships and supporting youth through the journey from young, inhibited middle schoolers to confident high school and college graduates. Outside of work she enjoys chasing the sunniest spot in the yard with a good book, trying local restaurants, exploring new running routes, and coaching her daughter’s soccer team, the U6 Crocodiles. Kasey lives in Quincy with her wife, two daughters, and french bulldog.

Mari has a background working with kids of all ages and she has spent time working both in schools, summer and after school programs. Mari started off as a camp counselor in Providence when she was in high school which inspired her to continue working with kids and their communities.
In Mari’s free time she enjoys being outside. Mari is also an animal lover and grew up riding horses. Mari also loves to try new restaurants in different neighborhoods and exploring the city.
How do you create a safe place for teens:
I like when teens feel comfortable and are able to be their true selves when they come into a space. I love being a resource as well, knowing that the teens always have people on hand to talk to is super important. I also love listening to what the teens like to do and how we can improve the center to make it a safe space for even more teens!
What is your dream for teens:
For all teens to feel as if they are important and being listened to. Teens are often overlooked due to their age and the stigma around “being a teenager”. Teens are the future, and more people need to provide them with the respect that they deserve, their voices are just as important!

Marisa is a Hip Hop, R&B, Latin and Dance music super fan and loves the energy and community of the teens, staff, and Board at the BTC.
How do you create a safe place for teens:
I believe that building trusting and dependable relationships is the catalyst for creating safe spaces. Being an active listener and showing compassion by putting yourself in the shoes of someone else is important, and shows that you’re truly invested in whatever challenges or concerns a young person is managing. I also think that showing up for someone, especially when they’re not at their best, proves to a young person that you’re there for them without condition.
What is your dream for teens:
I wish for all teens to see how interesting, creative and impressive they are, and that they have so much to offer their community and beyond. I feel incredibly inspired by young voices; their talents, their poise, their knowledge. I wish that teens weren’t saddled by second guessing, and would go for whatever they have their sights set on. And – I wish all teens could have access to a supportive mentor – because we all need a hype person who has walked the road before us to provide guidance and belief in us when we falter.
