Support BTC Today
The mission of the Brookline Teen Center is to provide a safe, enjoyable environment where teenagers can engage in constructive, educational and leisure activities.
All youth can excel when provided with opportunities for healthy risk-taking, allowing them to discover their own identities and unique skills.
Your Support Will Enable:
The launch of an exciting new cafe. We’ll be serving up appealing low or no cost after-school snacks to our ravenous teen visitors in a cozy and inviting reimagined counter and lounge space. The BTC cafe will be a major draw and anchor area of our funky and warm garage home.
Our annual Spring tour of Historically Black Colleges and Universities for BHS and BTC students of color in their junior year. This enlightening trip affords interested students the opportunity to get a feel for the incredible learning communities at these Mid-Atlantic and Southern campuses. Trips like these, planned and chaperoned by BTC staff, can be life-changing and impactful in many ways.
A more robust than ever summer and year-round BTC jobs program. Dozens of BTC members working at the center within the community in a variety of roles – detailing cars, doing basic landscaping and odd jobs, babysitting, and working in partner organizations like the Parks department and local businesses.
New staff positions like a GED/Hiset tutor to help students who didn’t earn a diploma chart a fulfilling next chapter. An in-house college counselor to help students in need of support to navigate this complex chapter.
The return of Middle Schoolers! Since Covid began, 7th and 8th graders have been on the outside of the BTC looking in. We’re ready to reopen the doors to younger teens and have exciting plans for them when they return. It will take resources to serve them in creative ways and expand hours for all our members.
The planning and build out of our amazing new basement space. Crossfit left, and we took over this massive area brimming with potential for dynamic programming and activities. A batting cage, skateboard park, boxing gym, golf simulator, and teen lounge are just a few of the features in the works.
