The newly renovated and modernized former 1930s-era auto body garage has been transformed into a 12,000 square foot modern facility offering a wide array of unique options to our clients.
The BTC is the perfect venue for both social and business events and has been one of Brookline’s premier selections for cocktail parties, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, birthday parties, special events and important business meetings of all types.
Can I get a description of the BTC building? The BTC offers 10,000 sq. ft of space plus 2,000 sq. ft of mezzanine area. The center offers an exciting venue which includes a half-court gym, 2 lanes of candlepin bowling, a stage with a large drop down screen/projector, music recording studio, fitness center, ping pong, foosball, air hockey, yoga/dance studio, pool table, media/game room, kitchen and a large café seating area with a small stage and outdoor deck with seats from Fenway Park. What is the capacity? The BTC can accommodate up to 450 for a standing reception and 150 people for a seated dinner. Final capacity is determined by the floor plan.
What does my rental include? Use of the building and equipment, a BTC staff person for logistical support, use of the BTC tables and chairs, basic power, wireless internet service, limited set up assistance and reasonable trash and recycling removal from the premises.
Can I hire additional staff? Yes. The BTC can help you coordinate the hiring of adult and/or teen staff to assist with your event.
Can I meet with BTC staff to discuss my event? Yes. For a 2-hour birthday party rental, there is 1 event planning meeting included in the rental rate. For 5-hour or more rentals, there are 2 event planning meetings included in the rate.
Does the BTC provide tables, chairs, linens, etc? The Renter is welcome to use the BTC’s 3 tables (5’5”x3’) and 20 chairs. The classroom on the Mezzanine has 7 tables (6’x3’), 3 tables (6’x2’) and 20 chairs. Mezzanine tables and chairs cannot be moved downstairs. Any additional tables and seating beyond what the BTC provides will need to be coordinated by the Renter. The BTC also has 1 coat rack that holds approximately 50 coats. The BTC does not provide linens, plates, silverware, etc… All costs associated with rentals is the responsibility of the Renter. BTC furnishings are subject to change without notice.
Can I hire a caterer for my event? If a caterer is wanted for the event, the Renter is responsible for securing a caterer of their choice (the BTC can provide a list of vendors). Caterers are subject to BTC approval and are responsible for the set up and removal of all equipment, supplies and clean up. All costs associated with the caterer are the responsibility of the Renter.
Is there a kitchen at the BTC? Yes. There is a small kitchen with limited freezer/fridge space, an oven, prep area, sink, microwave and commercial dishwasher. Caterers can work with BTC staff to figure out the best location to set up additional ovens, etc.. that the caterer may wish to bring.
Can I serve alcohol at my event? Yes but any function where alcohol is served must have a licensed, insured bartender and the BTC must have a copy of the license and insurance form prior to the event. All costs associated with alcohol and the bartender are the responsibility of the Renter.
Does the BTC have a stage? Yes. The BTC has 2 stages available for DJs, performances, etc. The cafe stage is 9’3″ x 5’4″ and the gym stage is 16’6″ x 15’10”.
Can I show a video or slide show? Yes. There are 2 large screens available and the staff will work with you to assure your format is correct for our equipment. Any media that will be shown at the event must be given to the BTC one week prior to the event. The BTC will run it from a Chromebook so a USB or Dropbox is preferred.
What is the latest my event can run? All events must end by midnight.
Who is responsible for set up & clean up? The renter is responsible for coordinating the set-up and clean-up of their event. The BTC will move its existing furniture in accordance with the renter’s floor plan and return the furniture to its place at the end of the event. All other set-up (rentals, decorations, etc…) and clean-up of the event is the renter’s responsibility to coordinate. If the renter has a caterer, they must confirm with the caterer what they will and will not do regarding set-up and clean-up.
Is there parking at the BTC? There is no event parking at the BTC. Parking is available on the street. For larger events, the BTC may be able to provide the Pierce School parking lot (1 block from the BTC) for an additional cost of $150 that is payable by check to the Pierce School PTO and given to the BTC.

If your event will be over and cleaned up by 3:00pm, the rate is $3,000 for a 5-hour block (including set-up and clean up) and $400/hour for any additional hours.
If your event will go past 3:00pm or is an evening event, we will close to teens and the rate is $4,500 for an 8-hour block (including set-up and clean-up) plus $400/hour for any additional hours.
