Design and 3D Print just about anything! – Intermediate 3D Printing: 3D Printing is great, but the real power of this tool is fully enjoyed when you know how to create your own complex computer models to send to the printer. With this skill, the sky is literally the limit for your imagination in designing, creating, and printing anything! This class is for students familiar with the basics of using and operating a 3D Printer. The class will focus on teaching students to model their very own custom objects and prepare those models for use with a 3D Printer using a free, open source software called OnShape. Students may bring their own computers, or laptops will be provided in class. The class will also discuss more advanced printing topics procedures to help ensure quality prints as well as basic printer maintenance. The class is taught by Brookline Teen Center’s Makerspace Youth Leader, Noah Lewkowitz.
Build your own project using IoT (Internet of Things) – Harness the power of the internet to work for you!: This advanced class will teach students how to make the internet work for them. Using IoT (Internet of Things), students will learn how to gather information from the internet and use that information to send signals to their very own electronics. This enables young makers to create devices that send tweets when they are on their way home, LED weather stations, or devices to send text messages when things are left open, leaking, on, etc. The class is taught by Brookline Teen Center’s Makerspace Youth Leader, Noah Lewkowitz.
