Club GRCB is Girls Rock Campaign Boston's year round program for girls and gender non-conforming youth in 6th-12th grades. During Club, youth form bands, write original songs, record their music, make music videos, and perform at the end of the semester! Additionally, Club participants engage in a variety of arts, music, social justice workshops, and instrument instruction. Tuesdays, 3:00-5:30, at Brookline Teen Center. From 3:00-3:30 we provide snacks and homework help. Tuition for Club GRCB is on sliding scale between $0-$350. Girls LEAP Self-Defense Program: This program, run by Girls LEAP, empowers girls and young women through an integration of self-reflective and physical self-defense skills.  Self-Reflective skills include topics such as conflict resolution, setting boundaries, courage, advocacy and healthy relationships. Physical Self-Defense skills focus on girl-specific physical safety through self-defense techniques. Class runs on Wednesdays from 3:15 – 5:15 PM. Class runs for 10 weeks from October 11th through December 20th.  There is no class on 11/22. Class is capped at 20 students, and students are expected to attend all sessions. Animation: Our friends at the Brookline Arts Center are coming to the BTC.  In this class, students will develop characters and comics with a three-dimensional twist! Students will bring their drawn characters to life using sculpey clay, found materials, and sewing techniques. They will then have the opportunity to experiment with stop-motion animation of their creations. This 10 week class will run on Wednesdays in the BTC conference room from 3:30-5:00 PM September 27th through December 13th (no class on 11/22).  There is a $280 fee to take this class.  This class is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade…

Brookline Engineering Project – Tier 2 : Brookline Engineering Project Tier 2 will build off of the skills learned in the first class.  The class will be student driven and project oriented.  The curriculum will be loose and largely based around students’ individual and group interests.  Students will select and work on a few projects of their choice throughout the session. Brookline Engineering Project – Young Makers Program – Tier 1: The Brookline Engineering Project seeks to excite and educate students in middle school and high school about robotics, technology and engineering. This student led organization is a project-based learning environment where Brookline students can tinker, build and learn.
