Quiz Bowl: Quiz Bowl is coming to BTC middle schoolers, led by members of the BHS Quiz Bowl team! Quiz Bowl is an activity that combines academics, trivia, competition, and fun! During 6-week sessions, students will answer long and short questions using practice packets (like this one), learn about all sorts of subjects (science, history, literature, math, pop culture, and more) by researching and memorizing, and gain a love for knowledge.  Participants will learn the Quiz Bowl format which includes individual questions with buzzers and group questions. Archery: This fall, On the Mark Archery, is coming to the BTC to teach archery to middle school students.  Join the program that has everyone raving about one of the world’s most exciting sports: recurve archery. Patience, focus and discipline are the only things needed to find success and achieve consistent shot groups. Our unique lesson plans engage students in unique challenges each class while balancing out individualized attention and feedback. Bike Repair 101 – Want to learn how to change a flat tire, or patch a tube?  What do you do if your brakes are rubbing on your tire or the chain falls off your bike?  Come to the Brookline Teen Center Makerspace to learn bike repair basics from a professional mechanic.  The outline for the six week class is: 1: Bike anatomy, disassemble and identify major components. 2: Tires and Wheels, fix a flat 3: Cables and common wear items. 4: Drive System, chains and shifting 5: Brakes, cleaning and adjustments 6: Bearings, identifications and evaluations of bearing types…

High School students can stop by the BTC on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30PM to learn how to fix their bikes.  Students are encouraged to bring their bikes, and BTC's professional mechanic will teach them how to make the repairs needed to get their bike back to working condition.

Girls LEAP Self-Defense Program: This program, run by Girls LEAP, empowers girls and young women through an integration of self-reflective and physical self-defense skills.  Self-Reflective skills include topics such as conflict resolution, setting boundaries, courage, finding support, and healthy relationships and friendships. Physical Self-Defense skills focus on girl-specific physical safety techniques. Class runs at the Brookline Teen Center on Thursdays from 3:15 – 5:15 PM. Class runs for 10 weeks from September 27th through December 6th.  There is no class on 11/22. Class is capped at 25 students.  A minimum of 15 students are required to run this class. This…
