Aerial Silks: Circus Up and Revolution Trapeze are teaming up bring to Brookline the finest in circus and aerial arts.  In Circus Up’s Aerial mini-series, students will learn the basics of moving in the air!  Students gain strength and flexibility, grace, and correct alignment while twisting, turning, climbing and controlled dropping on the aerial silks.  Students will learn positions and moves close to the ground, and then move higher with more advanced skills, as ability advances.  Classes begin with warm-up and stretching, then move to the air, building on past lessons.  Students will likely learn to trust their new found…

The BTC will close at 6:00PM on Friday, April 27th for the SWS Prom.  Parkour will still run as normal at 6:15PM either outside or in the BTC makerspace.

(Almost) Every Friday from 6:15-7:45PM, Parkour Generations comes to the BTC to offer parkour classes.  The classes are drop in, and are open to BTC members from 6th through 12th grade.  Prior to attending your first class, a parent/guardian must complete a Parkour Generations release.  Bring the completed/signed release to your first class.  There is no cost for BTC members to attend Friday parkour classes, but space is limited.  To reserve a spot in a Friday Parkour class, click here.  Email George at gzahka@brooklineteencenter.org with any questions.

Trade Up

What is Trade Up? Trade Up is a manual arts program designed to introduce high school students to the world of green construction.  Teens will receive an up-close introduction to carpentry, electrical, air sealing, plumbing, and green construction.  Seniors will have the opportunity to participate in the construction of a small house in the BTC Makerspace.   At the end of the program, the seniors who show the most promise and drive will earn paid summer internships with a local green contractor.  Other committed teens (including underclassmen) can earn a summer job working for the BTC landscaping company Youthscapers.   What…

Mission Statement: Our names are Henry Shaffer and Jake Boyd. We are both BHS seniors and  the current Directors of the Brookline Tutor Mentor Program (BTMP). The Brookline Tutor Mentor Program was founded in 2014 with the mission of connecting Brookline High School students and Brookline Middle School Students (6th, 7th and 8th graders), not just for academic tutoring, but also to build bridges across the community. The program is completely free and we welcome students of all socioeconomic backgrounds.
