Bike Repair 101

May 14 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 3:30pm on Monday, repeating until May 21, 2018

Want to learn how to change a flat tire, or patch a tube?  What do you do if your brakes are rubbing on your tire or the chain falls off your bike?  Come to the Brookline Teen Center Makerspace to learn bike repair basics from a Brookline High School student mechanic.  Participants will learn how to use different bike tools, and develop the skills necessary to make basic bike repairs (flat fixing, hub repairs, tuning).  Students with financial need are eligible to receive a free bike, lock, and helmet at the conclusion of class.

  • This class meets for 4 Mondays from 3:30-4:30PM in the BTC Makerspace, beginning April 30th and ending May 21st (4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21).
  • Class is capped at 8 students, and open to BTC members in grades 6-8.
  • There is no fee for this class, but students must be a BTC member to participate.
  • If you have questions or to register, please email George at gzahka@brooklineteencenter.org.
