SPARTAN RACE is a series of obstacle races of varying distance and difficulty ranging from 3 miles to marathon distances. In 2012, they were voted Outside Magazine’s “BEST OBSTACLE RACE”.
OBSTACLES FREQUENTLY INCLUDE: Fire Jump, Barbed Wire Crawl, Over-Under-Through, Spear Throw, Wall Climb, Object Carry, Herculean Hoist, Tyrolean Traverse, Slippery Wall, Gladiator Arena and Rope Climb.

SPARTAN and the BROOKLINE TEEN CENTER have partnered together to increase teen participation in Spartan races. The BTC will provide the team with a FREE 12-week training program and they will participate in the Spartan Boston Sprint Race on Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Barre, MA.
Distance: 3-5 mile race
Obstacles: 20-23
Terrain: According to the Spartan website “This course consists of rolling farmland, muddy single and double track, fields, and swamps. The muddiness at this venue is known to swallow up your shoes, so be sure to tie those laces up tight. Come prepared for a tough and fun course. Be prepared to climb, as there will be plenty of steep obstacles waiting for you.
