Brookline Robotics

The Mission of Brookline Robotics

Brookline Robotics seeks to engage 6th, 7th and 8th graders in STEM and robotics. Through our two programs, a one week summer program and First Lego League teams, we aim to teach students the basics and beyond of robotics and programming. We’re open to any experience level, novice to expert!

Brookline Robotics is made possible by the support of many enthusiastic high school volunteers, adult volunteers, and the support of the award-winning robotics team FRC 125, the NUTRONs, who have created or mentored robotics programs in Revere, Dorchester, and Jamaica Plain.

Summer Program

Description: Students will learn and gain experience with lego robotics under the guidance of adult and high school volunteers from the robotics team FRC 125, the NUTRONs. The curriculum is hands-on, investigative, and perfect for introducing students to robotics or enriching a student already interested in programming. Absolutely no experience necessary, and it’s totally fine if students have to miss a day or two. A laptop is recommended, but not required.

Dates: Monday, August 8th through Friday, August 12th

Time: 6PM until 9PM

Location: Brookline Teen Center – 40 Aspinwall Ave.

Cost and Registration: Cost is $100 per student. All tuition goes towards robot materials for the course and fees for the First Lego League teams.  Spaces are limited.  Registration for this program has closed.

First Lego League Teams

Description: Beginning in September, students will be placed into teams of 6-7 students. They will work on a robot to address the First Lego League Game Challenge of the season.
